New Delhi: Sania Mirza has slipped seven places to 70th position in the Women Tennis Association (WTA) singles rankings on Monday.

Sania is suffering from chronic wrist injury and has pulled out of the ongoing US Open.

Despite Wimbledon’s second round loss, Indian tennis diva Sania Mirza moves to the 38 th place of WTA ranking. She jumped to six places with 598 points in the latest WTA singles ranking.

Sania Mirza’s poor form has begun to take a toll on her rankings and the Indian ace has slipped a couple of rungs to 35th in the latest WTA list issued on Monday.

Sania, who crashed out of first round of the WTA Bank of the West Classic after going down in straight sets to a British qualifier, has 803 points in the latest list.

She might not be sizzling on the ITF circuit these days but Sunitha Rao reckons her consistent performance has prepared her well for the big occasion — Beijing Olympics — where she will pair up with Sania Mirza to compete in the women’s doubles event.
