Sania Mirza, who lost in the singles second round in Wimbledon, slipped one rung in the Women Tennis Association (WTA) and is placed 33rd.
However in doubles she moved up one spot after her quarter-final appearance with American Bethanie Mattek to be at the 18th position.

Sania Mirza’s disastrous return to court, after a three-month injury layoff, last week had no impact on her WTA rankings as she held on to the 33rd spot in the latest list released today.
The Indian ace, who was sent packing in the second round of the WTA grass court event in Birmingham last week, has 848 points.

Sania Mirza might have suffered a first-round exit in her comeback match but she managed to retain her ranking of 33 in the latest Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) list Monday.
Sunitha Rao, who reached the quarterfinal final of the DFS Classic in Birmingham last week, jumped eleven places to a career-high 149.

NEW DELHI, April 14: A wrist surgery may have forced Sania Mirza out of action for a month but the Indian tennis ace has still managed to gain a spot in the WTA Rankings, rising to the 30th position in the latest list issued on Monday.

New Delhi, April 7 (IANS) India’s Leander Paes has dropped four points to 24th position while compatriot and former doubles partner Mahesh Bhupathi has retained his position at 13th spot in the Association Tennis Professional (ATP) men’s doubles ranking issued Monday. Another Indian Rohan Bopanna has climbed up one rung to 55th position.
