Sania Mirza on Monday said she had recovered from a “career-threatening” injury with help from cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

A beaming Mirza was delighted to be back on court after the painful wrist problem that forced her out of the Beijing Olympics in tears and left her unable to perform even such simple functions as lifting a fork for eating.

Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza today crashed out of the women’s singles event at the Olympics after retiring midway through her opening round match against Czech Iveta Benesova here.
Sania trailed 1-6 1-2 against Benesova before making a tearful exit after her a right wrist injury forced her to concede the match.
