sania-mirzaIt’s seems like a nice idea, what Tennis Channel is doing, offering vignettes about what different female players have in their purses. Saturday afternoon the episode was on Sania Mirza from India. Mirza has been known to wear not only earrings but nose rings and she was funny during her episode, finishing off by pulling out a bottle of body spray, spritzing herself and saying all tennis players needed some freshening up.

The French Open 2008

The French Open 2008
The second grand slam of the year is about to start next week on the red clay in Paris France. I am very excited about the French Open because I am such a tennis fan. Contrary to popular belief the FrenchOpen is the second most important slam after Wimbledon and not the US OPEN. The French Open is also the toughest slam to win because you need fitness, stamina, intelligence, not just power to win on this surface. I love tennis however, in Canada tennis is hardly ever on TV. I find myself more interested in the men’s French Open event then the women’s event. Women’s tennis has lost its spark its so boring and the new young players coming up on the WTA are not being marketed at all. The only player the WTA market is that blonde barbie doll wannabe Maria Sharapova.

French Open 2008 Preview

I can’t believe it, but the French Open starts tomorrow! And it’s the only slam that has a full day of action going on, and that full day includes an 11 AM match for Ana, with Novak on center court afterwards. Also, Janko is playing tomorrow. And no Rafa or Fed tomorrow. It’s kind of strange that way…
