The past few months have been great for Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza. She’s made a comeback on the court by winning major tournaments and her ranking has taken a jump – currently she’s world no. 76 (singles) and World No. 29 (doubles). In her first interview with CNN post marriage Sania Mirza said “I was marrying a person, not a Pakistani, people try to make it political but we were very clear that we were two individuals who were getting married just like normal people.”

Indian tennis queen Sania Mirza is slated to get married to Pakistani cricket star today.

According to Sania’s spokesperson, the several personages from circles of Bollywood and cricketers including Tendulkar would attend the reception ceremony.

The “objectionably forward behaviour” displayed by the India’s ace tennis player has obviously not gone down well with the Islamic seminary –their advise to Saina and her would-be groom is to behave in a restrained manner and not to flout guidelines set by the Holy Book till they are actually declared husband and wife.
