Sania Mirza, India’s most over-hyped sportsperson!

“Carrying the hopes of a billion people”. Just woke up on this cozy sunday to read this first line on rediff and indiatimes. Infuriated, i slowly calmed down and realised that, India lacks sports heroes. Hence it is but natural for the media to focus on very mediocre talent like Sania Mirza and project her as India’s only hope for a medal.

He’s smiling hard from the posters and hoardings all over the city. And he sparks news about his romances (now is it Sania Mirza.. or Vidya Balan?). So, here’s Shahid Kapur talking about  women.. just friends actually.. with Roshmila Bhattacharya.

Shahid-Vidya or Shahid-Sania? While the gossip mills go on speculating on the leading lady in Shahid’s life, for now, it appears that the Shahid-Sania connection is leading the race by some brownie points. The two hotties, who are seen increasingly together have yet again given us enough reason to believe than there is something more than just friendship cooking in here.

Is something cooking between Shahid Kapoor and Sania Mirza? Media is rife with speculations about the sort of relations that the two enjoy.

Sania Mirza is the highest ranked tennis player from India. India has stood on the sidelines of international tennis for a long time. Even now, the highest ranked Indian in the male ranking is an American, Prakash Amritraj, at 278. Rohan Bopanna is at 292 and there is no other Indian on the ranking list till we move down to the 400s.
