Sania going from strength to strength

So far, injuries have spoiled major parts of Sania Mirza’s career. Injuries have caused major ups and downs for her. But, amidst all this, she is confident of going from strength to strength. This year has been year of injuries and recuperation for India’s top-ranked tennis player. First, it was a knee injury that put Sania out of the 2008 WTA Tour for eight weeks.

Sania Mirza gained a place to be 97th in women’s singles ranking while in doubles she lost three places to be placed 62nd.

Sania Mirza was relaxed and confident, as she faced the media after another good training session at the DLTA Complex. She had finished her stint in the Capital with friend Radhika Tulpule, who has graduated from her playing days to be one of the best ITF-qualified coaches in the country.

Sania to grace Muffarnagar ITF event

Sania Mirza will grace the prize distribution ceremony of the USD 10,000 ITF women’s tournament scheduled to be held here from November 1 to November 8.

The eight-day tournament will be participated by players from 22 countries, including hosts India.
