Dubai Indian star Sania Mirza bowed out of the 2009 Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships yesterday as she and Italian partner Mara Santangelo were eliminated from the women’s doubles event after a 6-3, 6-3 defeat to the world number one pair of Cara Black and Liezel Huber.

Sania Mirza’s doubles campaign in the $2 million Dubai Open, too, has come to an end.

After a second round exit in the singles competition, Sania and her partner Mara Santangelo of Italy were beaten in straight sets 3-6, 3-6 by the top seeded pair of Cara Black and Lizel Huber.
