Sania Mirza’s cruising in WTA Japan Open came to an end after she was crushed by fourth seed World No. 26 Francesca Schiavone in Osaka for a 2-6, 1-6 on Saturday.
This stresses that she lost all the three encounters with the Italian player.

India’s first Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra and tennis star Sania Mirza will be amongst those taking part in the Queen’s Baton Relay here on Thursday.
Other prominent sports personalities featuring in the list of torch bearers include boxing sensation Vijender Singh, wrestler Sushil Kumar, Milkha Singh, Kapil Dev, Dilip Tirkey and Karnam Malleswari.

Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza came back strongly after dropping the first set to beat Shahar Peer of Israel and enter the second round of the Japan Open here on Monday.Sania defeated the fifth seeded Peer 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a hard fought encounter, which lasted for an hour and 52 minutes.
