So far, injuries have spoiled major parts of Sania Mirza’s career. Injuries have caused major ups and downs for her. But, amidst all this, she is confident of going from strength to strength. This year has been year of injuries and recuperation for India’s top-ranked tennis player. First, it was a knee injury that put Sania out of the 2008 WTA Tour for eight weeks.

Women’s world No. 41 tennis player, Nicole Vaidisova, is enjoying her break from the game in the off-season before she gets back to action in the new season starting next January.

The musical chairs of clothing sponsorship continues with adidas announcing on Monday that it has signed Sania Mirza as its first Indian Global Brand Ambassador. This explains the photo we posted earlier.

Sania’s multi-year agreement is effective immediately. I haven’t found out yet which line she’ll be wearing (my two cents: her bustiness will make the Competition tops look awesome; sorry, Justine).

Commenting on her signature collection, Sania Mirza, adidas brand ambassador said, “I am extremely excited about my signature collection. The range reflects my personality and while designing we have paid close attention to style and comfort. The range is sporty and at the same time blends in a little bling and detailing without being over the top. I hope my fans would enjoy wearing the range as much as I enjoyed designing it with the team at adidas”.
