Sania Mirza pulled out from her first Olympic match against Iveta Benesova and retired due to injury. If she fails to recover, it’ll be a big blow to India and Sunitha Rao, because Rao cannot participate in the absence of Sania in women’s doubles..

India’s Sania Mirza retired hurt from her first-round Olympic Games clash against Iveta Benesova of the Czech Republic on Monday.
Sania, who only returned to the Tour in June after a three-month absence following surgery on her right wrist, was down 6-1, 2-1 when she pulled out.
