July 24th, 2010By Jilawatan

India’s Sania Mirza reached the final of the singles at the ITF tournament in Wrexham and then followed that success by winning the doubles title at the same event on Saturday.
Mirza is the top seed in the women’s singles and the Indian number one lived up to her billing with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Emma Laine of Finland in the semifinals.
The 23-year-old world number 111, who only returned to the tour recently after marrying Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, will face US Open junior champion Heather Watson in the final of the $25,000 event.
Watson, a teenage Briton ranked 252nd in the world, beat her compatriot Lisa Whybourn 6-1, 6-3 in the other last four clash.
And Mumbai-born Mirza enjoyed further glory at the event in Wales just hours later as she and Laine defeated Britain’s Tara Moore and Francesca Stephenson 2-6, 6-3, 13-11 in the women’s doubles final.
