Lahore HC Wedding Gift For Sania Mirza & Shoaib Malik
May 5th, 2010By Jilawatan
Khawaja Mohammad Sharif, Lahore High Court’s Chief Justice, ruled out a petition filed against the newly wed Sania Mirza and hubby Shoaib Malik on Tuesday.
The petition was filed by Sheikh Hasan Sheraz who alleged that the couple spent almost Rs. 5 million on their wedding and that Shoaib’s house was illuminated beyond the permissible limit, both of which are against the law. Sheraz however failed to prove the allegations as a result of which the court ruled in favour of Sania and Hubby Shoaib.
Sheraz also said that Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, the federal minister for population and welfare gave a golden crown to Sania and she along with Shoaib were proclaimed the ambassadors of population and welfare ministry. The court pointed out that the crown was presented to Sania in India in Hyderabad and hence the Lahore court had no jurisdiction on the issue.
All seems to be well for the newly weds as of now and hopefully the couple will have a very happy married life ahead.
