Debina Bonerjee, who plays Sita in the TV show Ramayan, is set to make her silver screen debut playing Sania Mirza, in PD Garg’s film, Hyderabadi Damaad.

A source said, “Garg and director Jaiprakash (Market) had been looking for the right girl to play the role of Sania Mirza. Someone suggested Debina’s name. Amar Upadhyay and Ali Merchant are also in the film, but it is still not clear who will play Shoaib Malik.”

Debina confirmed, “I’m glad to be making my film debut with a real life character. However, I won’t be mimicking Sania’s mannerisms.” The film goes on the floors next week.
