Sania Mirza is India’s greatest tennis player. In fact, she’s the only female Indian tennis player to win a WTA single’s title, or to make it to the fourth round of a grand slam. She has had a career high ranking of 27, again a first for Indian women tennis players. Her achievements on the tennis courts have made her a celebrity in her home country, and in 2005 she was named one of the top 50 heroes of Asia.

Under vicious attack from Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray for choosing Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik as her groom, tennis star Sania Mirza has found strong support from Congress.
The party on Saturday indeed served an ace for Sania by terming Thackeray’s comments as typical of his tendency to `communalise’ everything.

The already controversial engagement of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik drew more heat Monday with accusations that the groom-to-be was already married. Indian police questioned him for two hours.

It’s a rocky way ahead for Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik if the predictions of leading astrologers are anything to go by. They predict that the future is not at all rosy for Sania and the current controversy is just the ‘tip of the iceberg of troubles’ for her.

According to the credible sources, Indian intelligence agencies and media failed to blame ISI for Shoaib – Sania Marriage. But even then RAW didn’t spare Shoaib; His passport has been confiscated by the local police on the agency’s direction.
